Summer Night Lights is a violence prevention strategy and youth development project implemented at MLK, Drake and Admiral Kidd Park from July 5th until Sept 2nd of this year. The organizers, participants and friends celebrated its end of summer.

The second year of the popular Summer Night Lights program kicked off Tuesday morning at Admiral Kidd Park.
Last year, the program was launched in Long Beach and is modeled after a Los Angeles effort and intended to reduce youth violence and gang activity by providing alternative activities and a safe place to gather through the summer months.
