Sep. 4, 2013 / By

“Our Community” is a VoiceWaves project and community event that was showcased on Aug. 26. Youth reporters were tasked to explore their community through a camera’s lens, each picking one community-based organization to shine a spotlight on. The reporters shared their visions, as seen and heard in this photo essay series.

Photography featured Centro CHA, Educated Men with Meaningful Messages, Filipino Migrant Center, Khmer Girls in Action, Leadership Long Beach, LB Alliance for Children with Asthma, LB Community Action Partnership, Californians for Justice, Homeland Cultural Center, Building Healthy Communities LB, LB Immigrants Rights Coalition, and the LB Gay & Lesbian Center.
