Building Healthy Communities: Long Beach (BHC) is a public health initiative funded entirely by The California Endowment (TCE). The effort is intended to improve the health of people living in fourteen communities through policy and systems change that is driven by intentional resident engagement and systems partnerships. The community collaborative (Hub) in Long Beach recently completed the second iteration of the Community Action Plan and the Steering Committee is now in its second (2-year) term. This collaborative (made up of residents, systems leaders, community benefit organizations and other stakeholders) is coordinated and managed by the Hub Manager who reports to the Steering Committee (SC) and works jointly with the Program Manager for TCE.
