Jim McDonnell addresses forum
A crowded room of Long Beach residents listened to city officials describe the development process for a Violence Prevention Strategic Plan at Chavez Recreation Center on March 9. It was the first of a number of planned community forums. Police Chief Jim McDonnell was among the list of speakers. Also helping to kick the citywide effort was Vice Mayor and City Councilmember Robert Garcia. This is an excerpt from his address.
