From a newsletter sent by the LB Coalition for Good Jobs and a Healthy Community
Last week, a four year boycott of the Hyatt Regency Long Beach officially ended when workers voted to have Unite Here Local 11 represent them as a bargaining unit within both Hyatt Regency Long Beach and Hyatt the Pike Long Beach. This win comes after 64% of Long Beach voters passed Measure N, the Living Wage for hotel workers. At a joint press conference with Hyatt managers, workers, and city leaders the Hyatt pointed to measure N as paving the way to this new partnership.
We invite you to join Hyatt workers and community leaders to celebrate this new community partnership, this Thursday April 25th at 6:00pm at First Lutheran Church on 9th and Atlantic Avenue.
