The City of Long Beach is currently developing a comprehensive Violence Prevention Plan. The city has convened an advisory committee composed of over 40 members. Tracy Colunga, the city’s Violence Prevention Coordinator, explains the plan’s development process in a powerpoint prevention.
The powerpoint can also be found on the City of Long Beach Website.
One of the consultants hired to help the city develop the plan is Mario Maciel. He’s a Division Manager for the City of San Jose and member of their Mayor’s Gang Prevention Task Force. Maciel offered some advice to Long Beach as the city goes about developing their Plan.
