In collaboration with the UCLA Department of History, the UCLA Labor Center premiered the animated short film, I am a#YOUNGWORKER. The film combines worker experience and research data into a powerful and artistic animated story.
I am a #YOUNGWORKER intends to entertain diverse audiences of all ages and hopes to raise awareness about the challenges that have historically and currently impact young workers. The film is based on a participatory student-led report of over 550 young workers across Los Angeles county.
The film is now available online so we invite you to watch the film and encourage you to share it widely.
The I am a #YOUNGWORKER film is a part of a broader multimedia research project that combines data, stories, and images by and for young people. It gets to the core of what young workers face today– their struggles, their dreams, and their hopes for the future.
The project also includes a young worker photo gallery exhibited at the Labor Center. You can read the report and see photo exhibit here: www.youngworkersrising.org
