On November 3, 2011, community members and organizations came together to attend the Digital Media Arts Summit and Expo. The event was set up in two parts. The first part was the conference. It featured a keynote speech by Sports Illustrated photographer Bill Frakes. Bill Frakes shared one of his projects that he did for Nikon and his career. The second keynote speaker was a lawyer named David Grace. David Grace spoke on intellectual property rights in digital media arts. Following this, there was an expo, which featured booths by local organizations and businesses.
Bill Frakes is a photographer for Sports illustrated. He has traveled to more than 130 countries on the job. He has worked with clients such as Apple Nike, Coca-Cola, Champion, Nikon, and more. He has also won many awards such as the coveted Newspaper Photographer of the Year, World Press Photo awarded him the Gold Medal.
