Why do residents continue to live in Long Beach? What attracts people to visit and stay? These were some of the questions asked and answered in a three-year study from the Knight Foundation called “Soul of the Community”. The study explored what drives attachment to a place and why it matters. The results revealed how issues like education, leadership, civic involvement and seven other community attributes influence resident perceptions of where they live. VoiceWaves attended the study unveiling and interviewed two of the presenters.
