About Leadership Long Beach:

Leadership Long Beach was founded in 1989 by some of our community’s most influential and visionary stakeholders. These founders envisioned the formation of a civic improvement program that would serve the community by developing and motivating leaders on issues important to the future and sustainability of our city.  The leaders developed by the Leadership Long Beach program have shared experiences, associations and values that enable them to set imaginative, yet realistic goals, and achieve them through coordinated and effective strategies.  Leadership Long Beach has three principled leadership programs – Leadership Long Beach Institute, Youth Leadership Long Beach and Executive Quick Start – and also offers continual leadership and networking opportunities throughout the year.

With 22 years of history, Leadership Long Beach is a community leadership program designed to develop demonstrated community leaders by increasing their knowledge of the Long Beach community and creating networks of individuals who can help each other solve community challenges.  Leadership Long Beach has over 1000 graduates from their programs and has contributed more than 100 community service projects to strengthen the Long Beach.
