Summer Night Lights will kick off this year on July 9th and run until august 31st.  The program targets at risk youth ages 16-24 and their families. Implemented in 2010, Summer Night Lights was created to provide safe spaces for healthy interaction to at risk youth and their families.  In this interview, Jessica Quintana of Centro CHA, talks about the need for this program during the summer when crime is at its peak in the year.  She addresses issues such as safe spaces and proactively engaging youth among others.

The program will take place in select parks and will feature activities involving art and culture, physical fitness, as well as life skills and leadership development workshops. Nutritious meals will also be served, free of charge. Francisco Martinez describes program details for 2012.
