LONG BEACH — The new city health officer has been named by the Long Beach Department of Health and Human Services, city officials announced Friday.
Dr. Mitchell Kushner, who began working with the Health Department in August, spent nine years with the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, most recently as the medical director for the Community Health Services Division. During his time there he provided medical oversight to 14 public health centers across the county.
