BHC Youth Conduct School Climate Surveys

Nov. 8, 2012 / By

As part of its Every Student Matters campaign, the Building Heatlhy Community Long Beach Youth Committee has created a survey on school climate for Long Beach students.

They are using the surveys to identify particular areas of school climate and school discipline as it relates to our campaign. The youth committee has identified school discipline as one the biggest barriers/actors to succeeding in school and feeling safe on campus. So this survey will be an opportunity for us to gauge youth experiences with discipline school climate as well as help identify alternatives from the youth.

The goal is to completed by 1000 high-schoolers from Poly, Wilson, Cabrillo, Reid and Jordan High Schools and 300 surveys completed from Stevens, Washington and Franklin middle schools. The deadline for survey collections is Nov. 19.
