As we begin our 4th year of publication, this is our 22nd issue of Palacio de Long Beach Magazine. We want to begin by thanking our loyal advertising partners and our readers.
This issue begins with a special tribute to the late daughter of Long Beach “La Diva de la Banda,” Jenni Rivera (1969-2012). Locally, we spotlight The Jazz Angels’ free performances at the Homeland Cultural Center, which itself is a hub of talent and free arts education. A local mother reacts to Newtown with New Eyes. We discuss the Long Beach Symphony Orchestra’s spring schedule, the Seal of Biliteracy (which can give students an advantage in seeking jobs), Black History Month, Restorative Justice in Schools, Peace Week, and some romantic recipes for the season of love.
