VoiceWaves, a Youth-led journalism and multimedia project in Long Beach, is seeking to profile those individuals and organizations that are Peace Builders in the community. This effort is part of the campaign, A Season For Nonviolence, which began January 30 and ends April 4.

These Peace Builders work tirelessly to build bridges between people, establish constructive dialogue and engaging and activating neighborhoods and institutions. Whether the issue is gang or domestic violence, bullying or gender bias, hate crimes or racism, VoiceWaves wants to spotlight the efforts to tackle and stop these and other forms of violence. Most importantly, VoiceWaves wants to share the values and lessons these efforts can teach adults and children alike.

If you know someone or an organization in Long Beach that you believe is a Peace Builder, please send us their name and contact information along with a brief description.

You can email that information to Antonio Ruiz, VoiceWaves Community Engagement Coordinator, [email protected], or post it on our Facebook page, www.facebook.com/voicewaves.
