A core part of The California Endowment’s Building Healthy Communities 10-year initiative is a commitment to improve the health and well-being of boys and men of color. Too many young people of color in California face barriers on the way to adulthood. They are growing up in communities marked by poverty, violence, lack of opportunity, under-funded schools and low-wage jobs that do not represent pathways to future health and success.
