PALM DESERT – A Coachella Valley High School teacher will screen his new film, Parts of Disease, to raise funds for his school’s cheer team on October 18 at California State University San Bernardino’s Palm Desert campus.

A screening admission will be provided for any donation of $25, or $35 per couple, to the CVHS cheer team. The screening begins at 6 p.m.

English teacher Simon Moore is hosting this screening to raise funds for the team’s travel to Hawaii to perform during the NFL Pro Bowl. The team earned a “Superior” ranking during a summer cheer camp to land the coveted spot

“Teachers are programmed to preach to students to follow their dreams and all that stuff, though few teachers actually do,” said Moore, a teacher at CVHS since 2007. “I wanted to send the message to students, teachers and everyone, everywhere, that if you plan right, and have the right team, there is little an individual cannot accomplish.”
