On Aug. 6th, 2014, parents, students and community leaders along with special guest Christopher J. Steinhauser, superintendent of the Long Beach Unified School District (LBUSD) met to grade LBUSD on its first-year implementation process of the Local Control Funding Formula. Now that LBUSD’s spending and accountability plan has been concluded, students and community members gave the district grades ranging from A to C. By evaluating their first year implementation process, they hope to give districts, County, and the State Board of Education solid feedback to integrate into it’s second year funding and accountability process.
